As a result, Mills had an amputation of her left leg below the knee. Moreover, she was largely interested in activism, and used her plight in order to bring awareness to the suffering of refugees. Additionally, in 2002, she got married to Sir Paul McCartney, Beetles member, after she met him at a charity event a few years earlier. Moreover, the couple had one daughter, and then got divorced in 2006.
In addition to being a humanitarian worker, Heather Mills is also committed to fight for animal rights.
